Prime Minister Modi to attend 16th BRICS summit in Russia on October 22-23

Modi will join BRICS leaders in Kazan, Russia, to discuss global challenges, multilateralism, and future collaborations, with bilateral meetings scheduled alongside the summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Russia from October 22-23 at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin to participate in the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Friday. During his visit, the prime minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with leaders from BRICS member countries, as well as with invited leaders, according to the MEA statement.

The theme for this year's summit is "Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security," which will provide a significant platform for discussing pressing global issues. The summit aims to assess the progress of various initiatives launched by BRICS and to identify potential areas for future collaboration. This visit offers a crucial opportunity for BRICS leaders to align on key international matters and further strengthen their cooperation in addressing global challenges, the ministry emphasized.
