Kolkata Metro to operate fewer services on Blue, Green lines on Independence Day

A total of 194 services, comprising 97 each in the up and down directions, will be operated on the Blue Line (Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash) on Saturday

Kolkata Metro Railway will operate modified services on the Blue and Green lines on August 15 on account of Independence Day, while normal services will be available on the Purple Line, an official statement said on Thursday.

A total of 194 services, comprising 97 each in the up and down directions, will be operated on the Blue Line (Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash) on Saturday.

There will be no change in the timings of the first and last services.

The Green Line (Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector V) will operate 148 services, with 74 each in the up and down directions.

The timings of the first and last trains will remain unchanged.

The Yellow Line (Noapara to Kolkata Airport) will operate its normal 92 services, comprising 46 up and 46 down trains.

However, four direct services from Jai Hind Bimanbandar (airport) to Noapara will be available instead of the usual five.

There will be no change in the timings of the first and last services on the Yellow Line as well.

Normal Metro services will be available on the Purple Line (Joka to Majerhat), while no services will be operated on the Orange Line (New Garia) and Beleghata) on August 15, the statement said.
