Bengal CM attends 'Janata Darbar', hears people's grievances

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday attended a 'Janata Darbar' in Kolkata, where he listened to people's grievances and concerns, officials said.

Adhikari interacted with people who had gathered at the public grievance programme and heard their complaints on various issues, at the BJP state office here.

The chief minister, upon arriving at the venue, engaged warmly with children present there. He spoke to them briefly and exchanged pleasantries before proceeding to the programme.

What is 'Janata Darbar'?

'Janatar Darbar' is aimed at providing citizens with a direct platform to bring their problems to the chief minister and seek redressal of their grievances.

One of the participants said he was a truck driver and came to the session to communicate to the CM how some policemen were allegedly extorting money in the name of fines in the Malancha-Dhamakhali area near Kolkata.

An elderly man said he wanted justice for his son, a BJP worker, who was allegedly murdered during the TMC regime after the 2021 Assembly poll results.

"I hope the CM will grant me audience," the man said.

Around 100 people came to meet the CM at the 'Janata Darbar'.
