While Muskan and Sahil Shukla were sentenced to death in the Saurabh Rajput 'blue drum' murder case, Ravita and Amardeep received capital punishment in the Amit Kashyap murder case. Their families are preparing to challenge the trial court verdicts in the high court.

Anjali, a resident of Agwanpur village in the Parikshitgarh area, has been lodged in jail since November 2025 in connection with the murder of her husband, Rahul.

Police allege that she conspired with her neighbour, Ajay, to kill Rahul after he objected to their purported relationship. According to the prosecution, Rahul was called to a temple outside the village and shot dead.

The case is currently under trial.

Anjali, a mother of three, spends her time in jail performing cleaning and stitching work. She also participates in religious activities, listens to the Ramayana and is learning to read. Her family visits her occasionally.

Another inmate, Komal, is accused of conspiring to murder her husband, Nain Singh, a Border Security Force constable.

According to police, she allegedly planned the killing with Gulshan, her sister's fiance, and pawned jewellery to arrange Rs 6 lakh for hiring contract killers.

The incident reportedly occurred on April 4. Police arrested five people, including Komal and Gulshan, in connection with the case.

Komal participates in cooking, stitching and knitting activities inside the jail. During counselling sessions, she has reportedly expressed remorse and often spends time alone after completing her assigned work.

Ilma, a resident of Zakir Colony under the Lohianagar police station area, was arrested in connection with the death of her husband, Talib.

Police allege that she conspired with her purported lover, Aman, and another associate to kill Talib, who was allegedly strangled with a dupatta on September 28.

According to investigators, Ilma initially informed Talib's family that he had died of a heart attack.

His body was taken to his native village, Rasoolpur Bhaderhi, in Muzaffarnagar district and buried without a post-mortem examination.

Following subsequent developments, the district magistrate ordered the exhumation of the body. An autopsy established asphyxiation as the cause of death, leading to Ilma's arrest.

Meanwhile, relatives of the four convicts sentenced to death in the Saurabh Rajput and Amit Kashyap murder cases have begun preparations to challenge the verdicts.

Ravita's mother, Munesh Devi, visited the district jail on Monday for the first time since her daughter's conviction.

She travelled from Saidpur village in Muzaffarnagar district and became emotional during the meeting.

According to jail officials, Ravita broke down while speaking to her mother during their nearly hour-long interaction.

Munesh Devi assured her daughter that the family would challenge the death sentence in the high court.

Ravita also requested a meeting with her three children, who are currently living with their paternal grandmother. Her mother, however, expressed helplessness over arranging the visit.

Separately, Divyansh, the brother of Sahil Shukla, visited the jail on Monday and spent considerable time speaking to him.

The families have informed the jail administration in writing that they intend to appoint lawyers and file appeals.
