Father, 5-year-old daughter killed, two others seriously injured in bike-truck collision

A father and his 5-year-old daughter were tragically killed, and two other family members were critically injured when their bike was struck by a truck in Saharanpur's Gagalhedi area on Tuesday evening, police reported on Wednesday.

Vikas, 35, a resident of Jwalapur, Uttarakhand, was visiting a relative in Saharanpur with his wife Akshima, 32, and daughters Jahnvi, 5, and Ruhi, 3. The family was traveling back to Jwalapur on a motorcycle when the accident occurred, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Sagar Jain.

The collision claimed the lives of Vikas and his daughter Jhanvi instantly. Akshima and Ruhi were seriously injured and rushed to a hospital, where their condition remains critical. Following the crash, the truck driver fled the scene with his vehicle. Police have launched a search operation to apprehend the driver.
