Bulandshahr man lures 8-year-old girl with golgappas, rapes and kills her
An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district after a man known to her family lured her away from home with the promise of buying her golgappas, police said. The accused allegedly took the child to an isolated plot, sexually assaulted her and killed her with an iron rod before escaping.
The incident came to light after the girl went missing on Friday afternoon. Her family members began looking for her when she did not return home and subsequently alerted the police. A search operation was launched, and her body was found around 2 am on Saturday, approximately 500 metres from her house. Police said the child had injuries to her head.
Accused worked at same factory as girl's father
The accused, identified as Ravi Kashyap, worked at the same factory as the victim's father. Both families lived in rented accommodation in the same building, police said.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pratap Ajay, Kashyap allegedly took the girl to a secluded spot before assaulting her and striking her on the head with an iron rod.
The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Industrial Area police station, around 30 km from the district headquarters.

A case has been registered at Sikandrabad police station under Sections 103(1), relating to murder, and 238, concerning causing the disappearance of evidence, of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on a complaint, ASP Ajay said.
