Bomb threat emails trigger security checks at schools across Noida and Greater Noida

Bomb disposal squads, dog squads deployed after threats to schools in Noida

Several schools in Noida and Greater Noida received bomb threat emails early on Monday, prompting police teams to carry out extensive security checks with the assistance of bomb disposal squads, dog squads, anti-sabotage teams and fire brigade personnel.

The Gautam Budh Nagar Police said no suspicious objects had been found so far and that the situation remained normal, with law and order under control. Officials said classes were being resumed after the searches to minimise disruption and prevent panic among students and parents.

School administrations alerted the police through the emergency helpline after receiving emails threatening bomb attacks. Multiple police teams, accompanied by senior officers, were subsequently deployed to inspect the premises.

“Multiple teams from the bomb disposal squad, dog squad and anti-sabotage check (ASC) team, accompanied by senior police officials, conducted thorough checks at the schools,” a senior police officer said.

Police inspect schools across Gautam Budh Nagar

Senior police officials confirmed that several schools across Gautam Budh Nagar district, including those in Noida and Greater Noida, had received the threat emails.

“We are conducting searches at all the schools. Nothing suspicious has been found so far,” Abhay Kumar Mishra, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida), said.

Authorities did not disclose the number of schools that had received the emails, citing concerns about triggering unnecessary alarm among students and parents.

Santosh Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida), said classes were being resumed following the investigation and security checks.

“Following the investigation and security checks, classes at the schools are being resumed without creating panic among students,” he said.

Police officials said the searches were being conducted under the pretext of mock drills to avoid confusion and panic among students during the security operation.

Cyber team investigates threat emails

In an official statement, the Gautam Budh Nagar Police said local police teams had responded immediately after receiving information about the bomb threat emails on Monday. Thorough inspections were carried out with assistance from the bomb disposal squad, ASC team, dog squad and fire brigade.

“So far, nothing suspicious or adverse has come to light. Continuous vigilance is being maintained,” the statement said.

The police added that their cyber team was conducting a technical investigation into the emails, treating the matter with the utmost caution and seriousness.

“The situation is completely normal, and law and order remain fully under control. The public is requested not to pay attention to rumours,” the statement added.
