Body of missing woman found near dam in Banda, husband arrested for suspected murder
The body of a 35-year-old woman, Suman Patel, who went missing while returning from a court visit in Banda district, Uttar Pradesh, was found near a dam in Aahar village on Friday evening, according to police reports. Banda Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shiv Raj confirmed the recovery and suggested the possibility of murder due to injury marks found on her face. Suman had visited the court in Banda district headquarters on Thursday to pursue a domestic violence case against her husband, Rambabu Patel. She disappeared on her way back to her maternal home in Aahar village, prompting her family to file a missing person's report.
Following the discovery of her body, Suman’s father, Raja Bhaiya Patel, lodged a murder complaint against her husband and other in-laws. The police have since arrested Rambabu Patel, aged 37, and are questioning him about the incident. Efforts to apprehend the other accused individuals named in the case are currently underway. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities focusing on the circumstances surrounding Suman’s death, as they work to determine the full details of the crime.
