The last date for filing claims and objections regarding the draft electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Punjab is September 12, the state's chief electoral officer (CEO) said on Wednesday.

The final electoral roll will be published October 12, according to an official statement.

Deadline set for claims and objections

Punjab CEO Anindita Mitra appealed to citizens to verify their details in the draft electoral roll and submit any claims or objections by September 12.

She especially urged the youth who have attained or will attain the age of 18 on or before October 1, 2026, to submit Form-6 for enrolment as new voters.

Voters urged to update electoral roll details

Overseas citizens of India, those who are otherwise eligible, may also enrol by submitting Form-6A, Mitra said in the statement.

Any person whose name already appears in the draft roll published August 13 can submit Form-8 for correction of entries, change of address, or updating other details.
