Punjab: Channi-led Congress Campaign Committee discusses strategy for 2027 Assembly polls

The Punjab Congress's Campaign Committee discussed the party's strategy for the 2027 Assembly elections at a meeting held at the Punjab Congress Bhawan on Thursday here, chaired by former chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi.

Punjab Congress president Pargat Singh, committee co-chairman and MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira, MLA Rana Gurjit Singh and Patiala MP Dr Dharamvira Gandhi were among the senior leaders who attended the meeting.

Channi said leaders held detailed discussions during the meeting on Punjab's prevailing political situation and the party's campaign strategy ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.

The leaders exchanged views on Punjab people's expectations, the state's future, and the Congress party's future strategy, he said.

Pargat said the Punjab Congress Campaign Committee met with its chairman, Channi, and other party leaders.

"We discussed the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections and exchanged key ideas on our election strategy," said Singh in a post on X.

Punjab Assembly polls are due early next year.
