Scrap dealer arrested in connection to Baba Siddique murder case, bringing total accused to 10

Mumbai Police apprehends Bhagwat Singh for allegedly providing weapons to killers. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims responsibility as main shooter and conspirators remain at large

Mumbai Police’s crime branch arrested a scrap dealer in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, marking a significant development in the high-profile Baba Siddique murder case. The suspect, Bhagwat Singh Om Singh, a 32-year-old from Udaipur, Rajasthan, allegedly supplied the weapon used in the assassination of the NCP leader. With Singh’s arrest, the total number of accused in custody has now reached 10. A local court has remanded him to police custody until October 26 for further investigation.

Baba Siddique was murdered outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office by three attackers on October 12. Two of the shooters, Gurmail Baljit Singh (23) and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap (19), are already in custody. However, the main shooter, Shivkumar Gautam, along with two other individuals involved in the murder conspiracy, remains on the run. The notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang has taken responsibility for orchestrating the murder, adding to the case's complexity. Recent arrests also revealed that five others were involved in providing logistical support to the attackers, conducting surveillance, and planning the attack.

Investigations continue as the police work to apprehend the remaining suspects and uncover further details of the plot.
