Bengaluru horror: Cab driver kills wife and six in-laws over domestic dispute, arrested

A 45-year-old Bengaluru cab driver has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife and six in-laws over a domestic dispute and dumping their bodies at different locations

A 45-year-old cab driver has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly murdering his wife and 6 members of his in-laws' family following a domestic dispute. The accused, identified as Indushekhar, allegedly committed the killings on Wednesday and disposed of the bodies at different locations, including Nandi Hills in Chikkaballapur district, police said on Friday.

Police have recovered the body of a child, who was among the victims, while searches are underway to locate the remaining bodies.

How the multiple murders came to light

The alleged killings took place at a residential property on 59th Cross, near Basroom Circle, under the jurisdiction of Rajajinagar police station.

According to police officers, Indushekhar first allegedly killed his wife, Sunita, using a grinding stone. He then wrapped her body in cloth and disposed of it near Nandi Hills. To avoid suspicion, he allegedly switched off her mobile phone and told neighbours that she had gone on a trip.

The accused subsequently allegedly killed his mother-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, their wives and a 7-year-old nephew.

The incident came to light after the mother of one of his sisters-in-law filed a missing-person complaint at Srirampura police station on Thursday. During the investigation, police uncovered the suspected multiple murders and arrested Indushekhar.

Police launch search for missing bodies

North Division Deputy Commissioner of Police B S Nema Gowda said a large team had been deployed to investigate the case and trace the bodies.

โ€œThe incident occurred on Wednesday. Two ACPs, four inspectors and around 50 police personnel are involved in the investigation. The accused has thrown the bodies at different locations. We are searching for the bodies,โ€ he said.

Investigators also said the accused allegedly used chemicals to clean the house and remove bloodstains following the killings.

Police have seized the car allegedly used to transport the bodies and the grinding stone believed to have been used in the murders.

The investigation is underway to recover the remaining bodies and establish the sequence of events. The full names of Indushekhar and his wife Sunita were not immediately available.
