Protests erupt in J&K's Budgam over killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah

Protests erupted in the Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday in response to the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon. This unrest occurred on the fourth day of mourning for Nasrallah, who was killed in Israeli airstrikes on Saturday and buried the following day.

Demonstrators, including men, women, and children, gathered in the Magam market area and Budgam town, holding black flags as they marched along the main roads. They expressed their outrage by chanting slogans against Israel and the United States, condemning Nasrallah's death.

Although the protests saw significant turnout, they remained largely peaceful, with a heavy police presence ensuring that the situation did not escalate into violence. Despite the demonstrations, shops in the Magam market and Budgam town were closed in solidarity with the protestors, but officials reported that the overall situation remained calm.
