Girl allegedly assaulted after being taken to abandoned building
According to the complaint, the girl had gone to meet her 16-year-old male friend after tuition classes on August 24. The two minors were in the Greater Faridabad area when a group of youths allegedly approached them, threatened them and took them to a dilapidated building.
Police said the girl was allegedly sexually assaulted inside the building.
The girl's parents told police that six youths had followed the two minors and that the girl was sexually assaulted after the pair were threatened. Other reports have said police are examining the roles of several people, while the current case names four accused.
According to investigators, the two minors did not immediately tell their families about the alleged incident and kept it hidden for about a month.
Mother's concern brings case to police
The alleged assault came to light after the girl's mother noticed signs of severe mental distress and spoke to her. The girl then told her family about the alleged incident, following which her parents approached the police.
ACP Sarai Sandeep Mor said police received the complaint on September 28 and immediately began investigating the matter. An FIR was registered at the BPTP police station on September 29.
Police subsequently arrested Kunal, Yash and Deepak. The three were produced before a court and remanded in police custody for four days, during which investigators are questioning them about the allegations and their respective roles.
Reports have identified the three arrested men as a security guard, a BBA student and a tea vendor, although police are continuing to establish the role of each accused.
Alleged assault of the girl's friend under investigation
The complaint also contains an allegation that the 16-year-old boy was subjected to an unnatural sexual assault. Police have said this claim has not been confirmed and remains part of the investigation.
Other reports have also said the two minors were allegedly threatened and held inside the building for a period of time. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding those claims.
