Saini says Haryana fulfilled 70 promises in two years, work underway on 143 others
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said his government had fulfilled 70 promises during its two-year tenure, while work on another 143 commitments was underway, reaffirming its focus on welfare, employment generation and inclusive development.
Addressing a programme commemorating the 756th Prakashotsav of Sant Shiromani Namdev Ji Maharaj at Namdev Bhawan, Saini said the saint's teachings continued to inspire society with the values of brotherhood, love, equality, humanity and dignity of labour.
He said saints and spiritual personalities belonged not to any particular caste or community but to society as a whole, and their teachings could help build a harmonious society and a stronger nation.
Highlighting Sant Namdev's contribution, the chief minister said the revered saint had spread the message of devotion, service to humanity and respect for every hardworking individual. He also noted that Sant Namdev's sacred hymns were enshrined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

Referring to the Centre's development agenda, Saini said India was progressing towards the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
He said the Haryana government was working with the spirit of 'Antyodaya' to ensure that the benefits of development reached all sections of society, particularly disadvantaged communities.
The chief minister said the state government had taken the initiative to celebrate the birth anniversaries of revered saints and historical personalities at the government level to familiarise younger generations with their teachings.
These include Guru Ravidas, Bhagwan Valmiki, Bhagwan Vishwakarma, Bhagwan Parshuram and Bhakt Dhanna Jat.
Appreciating the cultural heritage of the Rohilla Rajput community, Saini urged young people to pursue opportunities in education, skill development and entrepreneurship.
He reiterated the government's commitment to the welfare of Other Backward Classes (OBCs), saying both the Centre and the state were working to expand opportunities in education, reservation and employment.
Referring to budgetary allocations for women's welfare and the scheme providing LPG cylinders at Rs 500 to eligible families, Saini said the objective of such initiatives was to reduce the financial burden on ordinary households.

The Haryana chief minister also criticised the Aam Aadmi Party government in neighbouring Punjab over the drug menace, unemployment and law-and-order concerns.
Expressing concern over the impact of drug addiction on young people, Saini said the issue required concrete measures rather than political point-scoring.
He maintained that protecting the younger generation from substance abuse was a collective responsibility of the government and society.
Saini also raised concerns about unemployment and the prevailing law-and-order situation in Punjab, stressing the need for coordinated efforts to safeguard the future of young people.

Referring to his recent visit to Sweden, Saini said an understanding had been reached regarding proposed investments of approximately Rs 4,000 crore in Haryana.
He expressed confidence that these investments would strengthen industrial activity in the state and generate employment opportunities for young people.
The chief minister said the government's priorities included expanding access to quality education, strengthening skill development programmes and creating more employment opportunities.
He reiterated that Haryana would continue pursuing development initiatives alongside welfare measures to ensure that economic progress benefited all sections of society.
