Haryana horror: 'Woman kills husband' in Kurukshetra, jumps from rooftop after being caught

A post-mortem revealed multiple injuries to the deceased, while police recovered three knives from the scene and began investigating the motive

A woman in Haryana's Kurukshetra has allegedly killed her husband in a knife attack and later jumped from the rooftop of their rented house after the incident came to light, according to reports.

The deceased was identified as Rajesh, a native of Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district. He was living in Kurukshetra with his wife Vimla Devi for more than a year and worked as a water supplier on Pehowa Road.

Landlord discovers bloodshed

The incident came to light around 5 pm after Rajesh and Vimla were heard arguing, according to a report by NDTV.

Their landlord reportedly rushed upstairs after hearing the couple's cries. He found Rajesh lying injured on the terrace and allegedly saw Vimla handling his remains.

Vimla reportedly panicked after noticing the landlord and jumped from the rooftop. She suffered injuries in the fall and was taken to a hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

Post-mortem reveals severe injuries

A post-mortem examination revealed that Rajesh had suffered multiple stab wounds. Police are also investigating injuries to his abdomen and the circumstances surrounding missing portions of internal organs, according to the report.

Three knives of different sizes were recovered from the scene, adding to the evidence being examined by investigators.

Police are looking into the circumstances of the attack and the relationship between the couple. The motive has not yet been established.

Police investigate possible motive

The landlord reportedly told police that Vimla was involved in traditional healing and exorcism-related practices. He also said that the couple frequently argued, NDTV reported.

However, police have not established whether these factors were connected to the alleged killing.

Investigators are continuing to examine the evidence collected from the house and are also looking into the circumstances surrounding the injuries discovered during the post-mortem.

Rajesh's body has been handed over to his family, police said. Vimla is expected to be arrested after her medical condition improves.

The couple had reportedly been married for several years and did not have children. The investigation into the alleged killing and the motive behind it is ongoing.
