Haryana BJP to launch ‘save democracy, end mob rule’ campaign from October 22
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana will launch a 15-day campaign titled “save democracy, end mob rule” from October 22 to November 5, aiming to counter what it describes as repeated attempts by opposition parties to question the credibility of constitutional institutions and undermine public confidence in the democratic system.
The campaign will involve Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, BJP state president Archana Gupta, members of Parliament, MLAs and party office-bearers at levels ranging from the state leadership to the booth level. Leaders designated by the party’s national leadership will also be assigned responsibilities for various programmes.
BJP plans public meetings, foot marches and press conferences
As part of the campaign, the BJP has drawn up a detailed action plan featuring press conferences, foot marches, public meetings, intellectual discussions, youth conventions and student competitions across Haryana.
A BJP leader said the party would present fact-based responses to what it considers misleading opposition propaganda concerning the Election Commission, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the accuracy of voter lists and the functioning of democratic institutions.
The party plans to organise public meetings at the district level and foot marches across assembly constituencies. It also aims to extend the campaign beyond its own workers and reach people in both rural and urban areas.
The outreach will target various sections of society, including young people, senior citizens, students, professionals and other groups.
“Our objective is to ensure that the campaign’s outreach extends beyond party workers and engages every section of society,” a party leader said.
‘National reflection dialogue’ to engage prominent citizens
The BJP will also organise ‘national reflection dialogue’ programmes at the assembly constituency level, bringing together prominent citizens for discussions on a range of issues.
Participants are expected to include doctors, lawyers, teachers, professors, businesspersons, young professionals, social workers and other distinguished members of civil society from their respective constituencies.
A BJP leader said the discussions would provide a platform for the party to present its position, supported by facts, on what it describes as the political intentions of the INDIA bloc, Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party and the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP).
Through the series of programmes scheduled between October 22 and November 5, the BJP aims to counter opposition allegations and defend the credibility of constitutional institutions and the democratic system.
