Haryana BJP in-charge Smriti Irani begins two-day state visit, holds organisational meetings

The meetings focused on booth empowerment, workers' participation and ensuring that the government's welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries

BJP Haryana affairs in-charge Smriti Irani held organisational meetings on the first day of her visit to the state on Thursday, the party said.

The meetings focused on booth empowerment, workers' participation and ensuring that the government's welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries, the Haryana BJP said.

The BJP national general secretary is on a two-day visit to Haryana. This is her first visit to the state since she was appointed the BJP Haryana affairs in-charge last month.

The former Union minister, along with BJP's Haryana co-in-charge Bhola Singh, is holding the organisational meetings at the party's state headquarters in Panchkula.

Haryana BJP chief spokesperson Sanjay Sharma said the series of meetings began on Thursday morning and will continue at various levels till Friday evening.

On Friday, the chief minister and his cabinet will be present in one of the meetings. Meetings will subsequently be held with party MLAs and other public representatives, he said.

Sharma said the visit of Irani and Singh is significant for providing fresh momentum to the party's organisational activities in the state.

The objective of the meetings is also to further strengthen the party, review organisational activities, enhance coordination between the government and the party, and formulate strategies for upcoming programmes.

In a statement issued in the evening, the BJP said it has set a target to constitute and reconstitute 11-member committees at every booth across Haryana within the next three months to further strengthen its grassroots organisation.

The appointment of 'panna pramukhs', workers responsible for individual pages of the electoral roll, will also be ensured at every booth. Senior party office-bearers will visit districts and interact directly with the workers. These visits will include overnight stays to review organisational activities and strengthen contact with longstanding and senior workers.

"The organisational meetings on the first day focused on booth empowerment, workers' participation and ensuring that welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries," the BJP said.

Haryana BJP president Archana Gupta said Irani also held a meeting with her, state general secretary (organisation) Pawan Rana, and state general secretaries Gopal Sharma, Satyaprakash Jarawata and Ved Phullan.

Separate organisational meetings were subsequently held with state office-bearers, district presidents and district in-charges. These meetings provided guidance on strengthening the organisation and implementing the action plan for the next three months, she said.

Gupta said the benefits of government schemes being implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will be taken to eligible beneficiaries.

If an eligible person faces difficulty accessing a scheme, party workers should help resolve the issue, she said.

Gupta said the guidance received during these meetings will shape a systematic effort to strengthen the organisational structure at the booth level, deepen engagement with senior workers and ensure every worker's active participation.
