Drug traffickers will be driven out if BJP forms government in Punjab: Haryana CM Saini

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said the BJP would take strict action against drug traffickers if the party forms the government in Punjab after the assembly elections due early next year.

Speaking in Rampura, Amritsar, Saini said a BJP government would also provide a clean and transparent administration in the state.

Focus on tackling drug addiction

Saini described drug abuse as a serious challenge and said its impact extends beyond the individual to their families.

He said drugs not only damage the health of young people but also affect the hopes and aspirations of their families. According to him, a BJP government in Punjab would remove those involved in drug trafficking from the state and take steps to help people struggling with addiction.

Saini targets AAP government

The Haryana Chief Minister also attacked the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, accusing it of failing to deliver on its election promises.

He recalled that AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal had promised honest governance during the previous assembly elections. Saini alleged that the Bhagwant Mann-led government had instead become more corrupt than the earlier Congress government.

Saini also alleged that AAP had failed to deliver on its promise of providing jobs to young people. He claimed that relatives of AAP MLAs and ministers and people close to them were getting employment, while other youngsters felt cheated.

Salary delays, medical colleges raised

Saini further alleged that Punjab government employees were not receiving their due dearness allowance despite court orders and were also facing delays in salary payments.

He compared the two states' healthcare infrastructure, saying the Haryana government was opening a medical college in every district. He asked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann how many medical colleges had been opened in the state.

Saini attends satsang in Amritsar

Earlier in the day, Saini attended a 'satsang' at the Sulahkul Temple in Rampura, Amritsar.

The temple management honoured the Haryana chief minister, with Baba Avtar Singh Maharaj presenting him with a shawl and a memento.
