Gujarat factory raided, 427 kg of suspected drugs and MD worth Rs 14 lakh seized, 1 arrested

In a joint operation by SOG and Surat police, authorities seized drugs from an Ankleshwar factory, marking the second major drug haul in Gujarat this month

Police seized MD contraband worth Rs 14 lakh and 427 kg of suspected drugs from a factory in Ankleshwar industrial area, Gujarat's Bharuch district, on Sunday night. One person has been arrested in connection with the raid, an official said Monday. The seized materials, which include 141 grams of methamphetamine (MD), were confiscated from 'Avasar Enterprise,' located in the Ankleshwar GIDC area, according to Anand Chaudhary, a Special Operations Group (SOG) police inspector. The substances have been sent to a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for confirmation.

The joint operation was conducted by the district SOG and Surat police, with authorities now further investigating the case. This raid follows a significant drug bust earlier this month when over 500 kg of cocaine valued at Rs 5,000 crore was seized from the Avkar Drugs Limited factory in Ankleshwar on October 13 in a joint operation by Gujarat and Delhi police. The previous raid also traced back to a Delhi warehouse bust where 562 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana were seized. Further investigation linked the contraband to Pharma Solution Services, which had connections to Avkar Drugs Limited in Ankleshwar.

Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to confirm the full extent of the illegal activities.
