Teenage boy injured in acid attack in Goa; hunt on for culprits
Panaji: A 17-year-old boy was grievously injured when some motorcycle-borne men threw acid on him in North Goa district on Monday morning, police said. The incident took place at 7.50 am when the boy was waiting for a bus in Dhargal village to go to his school in Mapusa town, a senior police official said. The men on the motorbike threw acid on him and fled the spot, he said, adding the motive behind the attack was not yet known. The victim was initially taken to the North Goa District Hospital in Mapusa, but later shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim near Panaji, the official said. "An investigation has been launched to apprehend the culprits," the official said.
