Kejriwal to leave Delhi Chief Minister's residence in 1-2 days; new home finalized in Lutyens Delhi
Arvind Kejriwal, the convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is set to relocate with his family to a new house in New Delhi within the next one to two days. This move follows his resignation as Chief Minister earlier this month and will involve vacating the official residence located on Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines, as announced by the party on Wednesday.
Sources within AAP revealed that Kejriwal is likely to settle into one of two official bungalows allocated to AAP Rajya Sabha MPs on Feroz Shah Road, situated near Mandi House. The new residence is conveniently just a short distance from the AAP headquarters on Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane.
Kejriwal had previously indicated his intention to vacate the official CM residence during the auspicious Navratri festival, which begins Thursday. In a statement, the party confirmed that he would be moving out in the next couple of days, although the exact location of the new home remains undisclosed.
The AAP emphasized that Kejriwal will continue to reside in the New Delhi constituency that he represents in the Delhi Assembly. Additionally, the party has called on the Central government to provide an official residence for Kejriwal, given his status as the leader of a national party.
