Delhi govt set to implement e-Cabinet system, says CM Rekha Gupta

The Delhi government has prepared a proposal to implement an e-Cabinet system, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said in the Assembly on Tuesday. The e-Cabinet portal, designed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for state governments, uses a push-and-pull mechanism to provide the high level of security required for confidential Cabinet matters.

Speaking in the Delhi Assembly, Gupta listed e-Cabinet among the reforms being undertaken by her government and said a proposal had been prepared for its implementation soon. The system is aimed at reducing paperwork and increasing the use of technology in Cabinet proceedings. It can also facilitate virtual meetings and be integrated with the e-Office system already adopted by the Delhi government, officials said.

The portal is currently available in Hindi and English and is designed for use on smart tablets. Another feature of the software is its built-in institutional memory and knowledge repository, which enables quick search and retrieval of content, officials said.
