Amit Shah inaugurates 400-bed tower at Max Hospital Saket

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday inaugurated a new 400-bed tower at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital in Saket, taking the hospital’s overall capacity to around 1,200 beds. With the expansion, Max Hospital, Saket, has become Delhi’s largest private hospital by bed capacity, Max Healthcare said in a statement. The new facility has been developed to expand access to advanced, technology-enabled healthcare for patients from Delhi-NCR and other parts of the country. It brings together tertiary and quaternary care capabilities across more than 22 specialities as demand for specialised medical treatment continues to grow.

Advanced medical technology

The new tower is equipped with advanced medical technologies, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical Robot and the Mako Total Knee Replacement Robot. The systems are designed to support precision-driven and minimally invasive procedures across multiple specialities.

Max Healthcare Institute Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Abhay Soi said the facility combines advanced technology and infrastructure with Indian clinical expertise to provide high-quality patient care to people from India and abroad.

“This state-of-the-art new facility brings together cutting-edge technology, world-class infrastructure and exceptional Indian clinical talent to deliver advanced, high-quality patient care to people from India and across the globe,” Soi said.

He added that the expansion would contribute to building a stronger and more inclusive healthcare ecosystem in the country and support India’s broader Viksit Bharat vision.

Delhi healthcare capacity grows

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi Health, Transport and Information Technology Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh and South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri were among those present at the inauguration.

Max Healthcare said the expansion further strengthens its healthcare infrastructure in Delhi-NCR, with a focus on increasing access to specialised treatment and advanced clinical care.

The company said the new capacity would also help create a more integrated ecosystem for specialised medical services for patients from India and overseas.
