Make a Bihar government scheme video, get Rs 10,000 for every 1 lakh views

Empanelled social media creators in Bihar will get Rs 10,000 for every one lakh views on eligible government scheme videos

The Bihar government has approved a new incentive for social media creators who make videos highlighting state government schemes and programmes.

The Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, cleared the amendment to the Bihar Social Media and Other Online Media Rules, 2026, along with 12 other proposals on Wednesday.

Rs 10,000 for every 1 lakh views

Under the amended rules, empanelled social media creators will be eligible for an additional payment of Rs 10,000 when a video on a Bihar government scheme or programme crosses one lakh views.

The payment will be calculated after 30 days and will be subject to verification and other conditions. The maximum amount that can be paid for a single video has been capped at Rs 1 lakh.

This means a creator could potentially earn additional payments as a video reaches higher view milestones, subject to the rules and verification process.

The Information and Public Relations department will issue a detailed notification explaining the implementation of the amended rules.

Follower checks also part of new rules

The amendments also provide for periodic checks of followers on the social media handles, pages and channels listed under the empanelment system.

The move brings social media creators into the state government's wider communication framework for its schemes and programmes. The incentive will apply to creators who are empanelled under the relevant rules.

Further details, including the conditions for verification and payment, are expected to be specified in the notification to be issued by the Information and Public Relations Department.

Bihar plans AI ecosystem

Separately, the Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between the state Information Technology Department and Taiyo AI India Pvt Ltd.

The agreement is aimed at developing an artificial intelligence ecosystem in Bihar.

The decision was among the 13 proposals approved at Wednesday's Cabinet meeting.

The government has not yet provided further details on the scope of the proposed AI ecosystem or the specific initiatives that will be undertaken under the agreement.

The two decisions place social media outreach and artificial intelligence among the areas covered by the latest set of Cabinet approvals.
