PM Modi launches construction of 4 compressed bio-gas plants in Assam to boost eco-friendly energy
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched the construction of four compressed bio-gas (CBG) plants in Assam, spearheaded by Oil India Ltd. The inauguration was part of a larger virtual ceremony for multiple CBG projects across the country, aiming to enhance sustainable and eco-friendly energy solutions in celebration of Swachh Bharat Diwas.
The key projects in Assam will be established in Guwahati, Jorhat, Sivasagar, and Tinsukia. Oil India Ltd is collaborating closely with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) to roll out a total of 25 CBG plants by the fiscal year 2024-25. This initiative will be supported through investments from Public Sector Units (PSUs) or partnerships with private entrepreneurs, according to a company statement.
