16-year-old girl burnt to death by ex-boyfriend in Kadapa district, accused on the run
A 16-year-old girl was allegedly burned to death by her ex-boyfriend J Vignesh on the outskirts of Badvel in Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh, police reported on Sunday. Vignesh, who had ended their relationship months ago and married another woman, allegedly poured petrol on the minor and set her on fire.
The incident occurred around 10 am on Saturday, leading to the girl's hospitalization at Kadapa RIMS, where she succumbed to her injuries at 3 am on Sunday. According to police, the girl had asked Vignesh to marry her again after reconnecting six months ago. Frustrated by her demands, Vignesh resorted to the heinous act. The police have booked Vignesh under several charges, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), and are currently searching for him, as he remains on the run.
