Wrestler PAC dies at 40: The high-flying wrestler's journey across WWE, AEW and Japan

Professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, better known by his ring name PAC, died on Sunday, a day after competing at All Elite Wrestling's event in Chicago. He was 40.

AEW said it was "saddened to announce" his death. The promotion did not provide a cause of death.

Satterley had competed against Andrade El Idolo at the event, making his final appearance in the ring just hours before his death. Known for his explosive high-flying style, PAC became a recognised name across multiple wrestling promotions during a career spanning more than two decades.

A video claiming to show his last fight as a professional wrestler is circulating on social media. FACT could not independently confirm the video's veracity.

From British wrestling to global recognition

Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began wrestling professionally in 2004 on the British independent circuit. His performances in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in the US and Dragon Gate in Japan helped him gain attention outside the UK.

His aerial moves, speed and technical ability became central to his wrestling persona, eventually earning him the nickname "The Man That Gravity Forgot".

Satterley joined WWE in 2012 and performed as Adrian Neville in NXT. He won the NXT Championship in February 2014 after defeating Bo Dallas, establishing himself as one of the division's prominent performers.

By 2015, he had also become a notable name in WWE's cruiserweight division.

PAC’s AEW run

After leaving WWE in 2018, Satterley returned to using the PAC name and continued wrestling internationally. He became one of AEW's early signings after joining the promotion in 2019.

In 2022, PAC won the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Championship. The title was later renamed the International Championship. He also became an AEW World Trios Champion.

In the later phase of his career, PAC was part of the Death Riders faction. His final match came at AEW's All Out event on September 26, 2026, where he faced Andrade El Idolo.

His death brings an end to the career of a wrestler who made his mark in Britain, Japan, WWE and AEW.
