Scandal-hit Man City returns to Champions League hosting PSG. In-form Barcelona goes to Galatasaray
Manchester City's return to the Champions League after an adverse ruling in a financial regulations case will be headlined by a clash against defending champions Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, bringing together two clubs whose fortunes have taken contrasting turns despite their similar rise to European prominence.
The meeting is among the standout fixtures of the latest round of Champions League matches, which will also see Barcelona travel to Galatasaray, Arsenal host Lille and Bayern Munich visit Norwegian champions Viking on Tuesday.
Real Madrid will face Roma on Wednesday in a reunion for coach José Mourinho with one of his former clubs, while Manchester United travel to Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona enter the round as one of Europe's most impressive teams this season, having won nine consecutive matches. Arsenal, meanwhile, will attempt to secure a 14th straight victory in the league phase across the three seasons of the competition's current format.

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain followed remarkably similar paths before emerging as European champions, combining to win three of the past four Champions League titles after decades without success in the competition.
Both clubs were transformed by investment linked to Gulf states, with City coming under Abu Dhabi-backed ownership in 2008 and PSG being acquired by Qatari investors in 2011.
Their ambitious spending and commercial arrangements attracted scrutiny under UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations, with both clubs receiving fines of 20 million euros in 2014.
Their progress towards European supremacy also followed similar trajectories. PSG lost their first Champions League final to Bayern Munich in 2020, while City suffered defeat against Chelsea in 2021.
City finally lifted the trophy in 2023 under Pep Guardiola, defeating Inter Milan, before PSG claimed their maiden title in 2025 under Luis Enrique, also against Inter.
Both managers had previously won the Champions League with Barcelona.
However, their circumstances have since diverged. PSG, under Luis Enrique, are pursuing a third European title in succession, while City face uncertainty following a Premier League tribunal's finding against the club over financial rule breaches.
The English club is appealing the ruling, with potential sanctions threatening its future participation in European competition.
The fixture will therefore bring together the defending champions and a club whose immediate European future remains uncertain.

Barcelona travel to Istanbul seeking to extend their nine-match winning streak, having maintained their impressive form since the opening round of Champions League fixtures five weeks ago.
The Spanish side have averaged more than four goals per match this season and opened their European campaign with a commanding 5-1 victory over Feyenoord.
Their visit to Galatasaray will also feature an intriguing reunion involving two former Manchester City midfielders.
Rodri and Ilkay Gündogan were central to City's Champions League triumph in 2023, when Rodri scored the decisive goal against Inter Milan in Istanbul.
The pair will return to the Turkish city on opposing sides, with Gündogan representing Galatasaray and Rodri now part of Barcelona's midfield following his offseason move.
The encounter offers Galatasaray an opportunity to test themselves against one of the competition's most prolific attacking teams.

Norwegian clubs Viking and Bodø/Glimt will face another demanding round of Champions League fixtures against German opposition.
Viking host Bayern Munich in Stavanger on Tuesday, while Bodø/Glimt welcome Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
Both Norwegian sides are involved in an unusually close domestic title race, with identical records for points, victories, draws, defeats, goals scored and goals conceded, and eight rounds remaining until December.
Their European assignments will be played on artificial surfaces, presenting a different challenge for the visiting German clubs.
The fixtures follow the opening round in which Bayern defeated Bodø/Glimt 5-0, while Viking suffered a 3-1 defeat at Stuttgart.

Shakhtar Donetsk will begin a series of four Champions League home fixtures in London when they host AEK Athens at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge.
The Ukrainian club have been unable to play in Donetsk since the conflict in eastern Ukraine began in 2014. Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022 subsequently made it impossible for Ukrainian clubs to stage UEFA competition matches in their home country.
Shakhtar are among three clubs using alternative home venues in this week's fixtures.
Real Betis will host Porto at La Cartuja stadium in Seville on Wednesday while their regular stadium undergoes renovation. The venue previously staged matches during the European Championship held in 2021 and is expected to be among the venues for the 2030 World Cup.
Azerbaijan's Sabah will play Slavia Prague at the 69,000-capacity Olympic Stadium in Baku on Tuesday because their regular ground in Masazir does not meet UEFA's requirements.

Atletico Madrid and Lille will attempt to overcome difficult records against English opposition when they face Manchester United and Arsenal, respectively, on Tuesday.
Atletico will host United at the Metropolitano, which is also scheduled to stage this season's Champions League final on June 5.
The Spanish club have failed to win any of their 11 Champions League league or group-stage encounters against English teams since 2008, although their record in knockout football has been considerably stronger.
Under Diego Simeone, Atletico have eliminated several English clubs from European competitions, including Chelsea, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham.
Lille, meanwhile, travel to Arsenal seeking to end a lengthy sequence of defeats on English soil.
The French side have lost their last eight away matches against English opposition, having last avoided defeat in a goalless draw against Manchester United 21 years ago.
Arsenal enter the encounter pursuing their 14th consecutive league-phase victory across the three seasons since the Champions League adopted its expanded format.
The fixtures will offer another early test of the leading contenders as the competition's league phase gathers momentum.
Fixture information was checked against UEFA's published schedule. Manchester City's financial ruling remains under appeal.
