Vishwesh Negi named India's next ambassador to Iran

The Ministry of External Affairs has appointed Shri Vishwesh Negi (IFS: 2002) as the next Ambassador of India to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Negi is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry. According to the official announcement, "Shri Vishwesh Negi (IFS: 2002), presently Joint Secretary in the Ministry, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Will assume charge soon

The Ministry also said that he is "expected to take up the assignment shortly". The appointment comes as Negi prepares to represent India in Iran, with further details on the transition expected in due course.
