Tiger Shroff firing: Suspects paid Rs 50,000, planned to flee to Nepal via Delhi

Police arrest three suspects in Tiger Shroff firing case, probe alleged Lawrence Bishnoi gang link

Three suspects arrested in connection with the firing at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai allegedly received Rs 50,000 collectively in advance for carrying out the attack and planned to escape to Nepal via Delhi, according to the investigation.

The accused were apprehended at Rajasthan’s Kota railway station on Monday while travelling on the Pune-Jaipur Express. Their arrest followed coordination between Mumbai and Rajasthan police after investigators traced the suspected assailants’ movements.

The three have been identified as Rehan alias Sukka, a resident of Sonipat in Haryana; Hritik Kurmi alias Roshan, originally from Begusarai in Bihar and currently living in Mumbai; and a minor from Haryana.

Kota police set trap after receiving information

Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam said police received information on Monday morning that the three primary suspects were travelling by train and were expected to arrive at the railway station.

“Acting on this information, our team, within just 15 minutes, set a trap and thoroughly searched the entire train,” she said.

The suspects were travelling towards Delhi, from where they allegedly intended to flee to Nepal. The route may have been chosen because the India-Nepal border sees heavy movement and can be crossed with limited documentation, potentially making it easier to evade law enforcement.

Police are questioning the accused to establish their individual roles in the shooting and reconstruct their movements following the attack.

Investigators probe alleged link to Lawrence Bishnoi gang

Preliminary questioning has indicated a possible connection between Rehan and Anil Pandit, who is allegedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

“Based on preliminary questioning, we got to know that Anil Pandit had been in contact with Rehan. Anil Pandit is linked to Lawrence Bishnoi,” Gautam said.

The alleged gang connection is among the lines of inquiry being pursued by investigators. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the shooting, with two alleged operatives, Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, claiming responsibility in social media posts.

The weapons allegedly used in the attack have not yet been recovered. Police said the suspects would be interrogated about what happened to the firearms.

“Weapons have not been found yet. However, they will be interrogated to determine what they did with the weapons, and appropriate legal action will follow,” Gautam said.

Motorcycle recovered near Andheri railway station

Mumbai Police have recovered the motorcycle allegedly used by the assailants. The two-wheeler was found abandoned near Andheri railway station, according to police sources.

Investigators examined CCTV footage from the crime scene and traced the suspects’ movements towards DN Nagar in Andheri West. The footage allegedly showed them heading towards the railway station after abandoning the motorcycle.

Police suspect the accused boarded a train to escape Mumbai. After receiving information about their likely movements, Mumbai Police alerted Kota police, leading to the arrests at the railway station.

The investigation has also been transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch, which is examining the alleged gang links and the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Five rounds fired as Tiger Shroff left Juhu football club

The shooting took place around 7 pm on Sunday, when Shroff was leaving Pushpa Park in Mumbai’s Juhu area in his car. The actor was seated in the front passenger seat when three assailants allegedly fired five rounds at the vehicle.

Shroff escaped serious injury, but his driver and another person were injured. Reports identified the second injured person as an autorickshaw driver.

The incident prompted a police investigation into the attackers’ identities, their possible links to organised crime and the motive behind the shooting. The alleged responsibility claimed by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is also being examined as part of the probe.

Police are continuing to question the arrested suspects and search for the weapons allegedly used in the attack.
