Several FIITJEE centres shut across Delhi-NCR and UP, teachers allege non payment of salaries

The closures have sparked outrage, particularly among parents in Ghaziabad, who have lodged an FIR over the abrupt halt in operations

Several FIITJEE coaching centres in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh have unexpectedly closed, leaving students and parents grappling with uncertainty. The sudden shutdown has affected major centres in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar and Noida Sector 62, along with branches in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, and Varanasi. FIITJEE, renowned for its coaching programs tailored to competitive exams like the IIT-JEE, has long been a preferred choice for aspiring engineers.

The closures have sparked outrage, particularly among parents in Ghaziabad, who have lodged an FIR over the abrupt halt in operations. The complaint, filed ten days ago, accuses the institute of disrupting students' academic plans and leaving them in the lurch. Parents allege that staff at the Ghaziabad centre were not paid their salaries, raising concerns about FIITJEE’s financial stability and its broader impact on students preparing for crucial examinations.

Parag Gupta, a parent from Noida, shared his disappointment over the closure. His daughter, a Class 10 student who joined FIITJEE two years ago and secured a scholarship for Class 11, was deeply affected. “We’ve already paid Rs 80,000 in installments. Beyond the financial loss, what troubles us most is the uncertainty about our children’s education,” Gupta said.

He further noted the lack of communication from FIITJEE. “This was an unforeseen move by such a reputed institute. Students are bearing the brunt of it. We’re waiting for answers, but no official statement has been released yet,” he added.

Meanwhile, the closures have raised broader questions about the institute’s financial health, as hundreds of students in the region face disruption at a critical stage in their exam preparation.
