IndiGo plane hits pole while parking at Srinagar airport, all passengers safe

An IndiGo aircraft operating a flight from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar collided with an upright metal pole while being positioned for parking at Srinagar airport on Friday morning.

The incident took place around 9 am as the aircraft was being moved into Bay No. 6. Pictures from the site showed the metal pole knocked sideways following the impact.

Passengers and crew safe

All passengers and crew members on board were reported safe, with no injuries.

Following the incident, passengers and crew were deboarded safely using manual aircraft stairs. No further details about the number of passengers on the flight were immediately available.

Airport authorities said the circumstances surrounding the incident would be examined through the prescribed process.

"The details and circumstances leading to the incident will be examined by the appropriate authorities as per the prescribed procedures. The exact cause will be ascertained following the completion of the inquiry, and no conclusion regarding the cause is being drawn at this stage."
