IndiGo Doha-Bengaluru flight diverted to Muscat after crew member needs medical attention

An IndiGo flight travelling from Doha to Bengaluru was diverted to Muscat, Oman, on Thursday after a member of the operating crew required urgent medical attention.

The flight landed in Muscat, where the unwell crew member was attended to by a medical team, according to a statement issued by IndiGo.

Alternate aircraft arranged for passengers

The airline said arrangements were made for another aircraft and a fresh crew to take passengers onward to Bengaluru.

“An alternate aircraft along with a new set of crew has been arranged to continue the journey to Bengaluru. We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers and are making all efforts to minimise it, including offering refreshments and timely updates as they wait for the aircraft at Muscat. The safety of our customers, crew, and aircraft remains our top priority at IndiGo,” the airline added further.

Passengers were asked to wait at Muscat while the alternate flight arrangements were completed. IndiGo said it was providing refreshments and updates during the delay.

The diversion was necessitated by the crew member’s need for medical care, the airline said. No further details about the crew member’s condition were provided.

The flight is expected to continue to Bengaluru once the alternate aircraft and crew are ready, with the airline working to minimise the disruption caused to passengers.

IndiGo reiterated that the safety of passengers, crew and the aircraft remains its priority.
