ECI to Deliver Voter ID Cards Within 15 Days — How to Apply and Track Online
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released a new expedited process to issue Voter ID card known as Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) that will be provided within just 15 days of registration. This initiative, announced on June 25, 2025, is part of the Commission’s bigger efforts, lead by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi for streamlining voter services.

Faster Delivery: EPICs will now be dispatched within 15 days of application.
Live Tracking: Applicants can track every stage starting from application processing to delivery through a real-time tracking system operated in partnership with the Department of Posts.
SMS Alerts: Regular updates will be sent via SMS at each step, keeping applicants informed about their card’s delivery status.
?How to Apply Online (via NVSP)
Visit the National Voters’ Services Portal: https://voters.eci.gov.in
Sign up using your mobile number and email.
Set up your account with a secure password and complete OTP verification.
Log in and select “Fill Form‑6” to register as a new voter.
Enter your personal, address, and family details.
Upload necessary ID and address proofs.
Review your entries, then submit the form.

Go to the NVSP portal and log in.
Head to Track Application Status.
Enter your reference number (provided after submitting Form 6 or 6A) and select your state.
Click Submit to view the current status of your application and delivery.
?About the Voter ID (EPIC)
Issued by the Election Commission of India to Indian citizens aged 18 and above.
Features include a photograph, name, address, and election district details.
The EPIC serves not only for voting but also as proof of identity, age, and address and even facilitates travel to countries by Nepal and Bhutan by land or air.
