Apple's next big event could be in October—here's what may debut

Apple could be gearing up for another product event in October, weeks after its September 9 launch, with a fresh batch of devices reportedly in the pipeline.

The company hosted its ‘Surprise and Shine’ event earlier this month, where it introduced the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first passport-style foldable, the iPhone Duo. While several products were expected to debut at the event, reports suggest Apple may have held back some of its smart home hardware for a later launch.

HomePod Mini and Home Hub could headline October event

According to MacRumors, Apple could organise a dedicated event next month, although it remains unclear which products will be showcased. Among the devices reportedly in the pipeline is a refreshed HomePod Mini, which could get a new chipset and support for Siri AI.

The updated speaker is also expected to feature Apple's N1 chip, Wi-Fi 7 support and a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip. Improved audio quality and a red colour option have also been tipped, while major changes to its existing design may not be on the cards.

Apple could also introduce a new HomePod with a touchscreen, reportedly positioned as a Home Hub. The device is expected to feature a 7-inch square display and an A18 chipset, along with Siri AI and FaceTime support. Apple may develop a dedicated operating system for the device with widgets and different clock faces.

The Home Hub could reportedly arrive in two versions—a tabletop model with an integrated speaker base and another designed for wall mounting.

Apple TV 4K and new Macs also in the pipeline

Apple may also refresh its Apple TV 4K with an A17 Pro chipset and 8GB of RAM. The upgrade could allow the device to support Apple Intelligence and Siri AI features. Wi-Fi 7 connectivity through the N1 networking chip and a new Siri Remote have also been tipped.

Beyond its smart home range, Apple is reportedly preparing the iPad Mini (2026), a new iMac and updated MacBook Pro models. The iPad Mini could get an OLED display and either the A20 Pro or A19 Pro chip, while the iMac is expected to feature the M6 processor and a 24-inch display.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro could also receive an M6 upgrade. However, the OLED MacBook Pro refresh is expected towards the end of 2026, making an October debut less likely.
