Range Rover unveils Sport SV Carbon, elevating lightweight luxury performance
Range Rover has unveiled the newest addition to its high-performance luxury SUV lineup — the Range Rover Sport SV Carbon. Positioned as the ultimate expression of lightweight design and advanced engineering, the model rounds out the brand's flagship performance offerings, joining the Range Rover Sport SV and SV Black Editions.
Set to make its global debut at Range Rover House during Monterey Car Week on August 13, the SV Carbon emphasizes aerodynamic excellence, dynamic capabilities, and sophisticated craftsmanship. Notably, the SUV incorporates carbon fibre elements extensively — both externally and within the cockpit — aiming to enhance driving performance while projecting an assertive, modern aesthetic.
The exterior features optional Forged Carbon and Twill Exposed Carbon finishes, including an exposed carbon fibre bonnet and active quad exhaust surrounds. Buyers can choose from four exterior paint colours, in addition to SV Premium Palette options. The vehicle also comes standard with lightweight 23-inch forged alloy wheels, with an option to upgrade to ultra-light 23-inch Carbon Fibre Wheels. This contributes to a total weight reduction of 76 kg when all lightweight options are selected. Carbon Ceramic Brakes are available for enhanced braking performance, with caliper colour choices including blue, yellow, carbon bronze, and black.
Inside, the SV Carbon offers a race-inspired cabin with performance seats backed in Forged Carbon Fibre, integrated headrests, sculpted bolsters, and illuminated SV logos. Customers can choose from four interior themes, including leather-free options. Forged and Twill Carbon accents extend across the dashboard and seatbacks, complemented by Moonlight Chrome detailing and illuminated SV treadplates. Buyers can further personalize their vehicles through the Range Rover SV Bespoke service.
The new model carries forward the formidable performance of its SV siblings, powered by a 4.4-litre Twin Turbo V8 mild hybrid engine delivering 635PS and 750Nm of torque. With Dynamic Launch Mode, the output rises to 800Nm. The SUV reaches a top speed of 180 mph. It features advanced driving technologies such as 6D Dynamics Suspension — a hydraulic interlinked air suspension system with pitch and roll control — for superior stability while cornering, accelerating, or braking.
In addition to performance and styling enhancements, the vehicle incorporates Body and Soul™ Seat (BASS) technology, a unique audio feature that allows front occupants to feel the sound, offering a sensory wellness experience through immersive acoustics.
The launch of the SV Carbon also introduces an auto-bidding feature on the Retail Direct platform for investment and reinvestment in Treasury bills, enhancing retail investor convenience. This feature is part of Range Rover’s broader effort to digitise and personalise customer interactions.
