Lamborghini brings Esperienza Corsa to India with 920 CV Temerario
Lamborghini has brought its flagship Esperienza Corsa customer driving programme to India for the first time, putting the new Temerario hybrid super sports car through its paces at the Buddh International Circuit.
The inaugural Esperienza Corsa India was held from September 12 to 14 at the Formula One circuit, with invited Lamborghini customers getting behind the wheel of the Temerario during a series of professionally supervised track sessions. The programme was designed to allow participants to explore the car’s acceleration, braking, handling and hybrid performance in a controlled environment.
Temerario takes to track
At the centre of the three-day event was the Temerario, Lamborghini’s second High-Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV). The supercar combines a newly developed 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with three electric motors to produce a total output of 920 CV.
The V8 is capable of revving to 10,000 rpm, which Lamborghini says makes it the first production super sports car engine of its kind to reach the five-figure mark. The electrified powertrain is combined with advanced vehicle dynamics aimed at retaining the performance characteristics associated with the Italian marque.
Customers were taken through different driving modes during the track sessions, allowing them to experience changes in the Temerario’s responses and dynamic behaviour. Professional instructors guided participants as they explored the car’s performance at progressively higher levels.
Urus SE joins programme
The track programme was complemented by a separate 4x4 experience featuring the Urus SE. Customers drove the plug-in hybrid Super SUV through a dedicated course intended to demonstrate its versatility and all-terrain capabilities.
The Urus SE combines a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor and a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery. The powertrain develops a combined 800 CV and 950 Nm of torque.
Francesco Scardaoni, Region Director of Automobili Lamborghini Asia Pacific, said the launch of Esperienza Corsa India marked an important step for the company and its customers in the country. He said taking the Temerario to the racetrack allowed owners to explore its performance, precision and hybrid technology in an appropriate environment.
Focus on customer experiences
Nidhi Kaistha, Head of Lamborghini India, said the programme was intended to give customers an opportunity to engage with the brand beyond vehicle ownership, with the Temerario track sessions and Urus SE 4x4 programme presenting two different aspects of Lamborghini performance.
The launch of Esperienza Corsa follows Lamborghini’s first Esperienza Terra India programme earlier this year. That six-day expedition brought together 18 customers for a drive through Ladakh, reaching altitudes of up to 5,300 metres.
While Esperienza Terra focused on high-altitude driving and exploration, the new Corsa programme shifts the emphasis to racetrack performance as Lamborghini expands its portfolio of customer-focused driving experiences in India.
