Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has officially launched the much-awaited Rebel 500 cruiser motorcycle in India, expanding its premium lineup. Priced at ₹5.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram), the 2025 Rebel 500 is now open for bookings at select BigWing Topline dealerships in Gurugram, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, with deliveries slated to begin in June 2025. The Rebel 500, a globally acclaimed model, is positioned as a modern cruiser that combines classic design elements with contemporary engineering. It will be available in a single Standard variant in Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic and is aimed at riders looking for both performance and individual expression. Mr. Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO of HMSI, said the Rebel 500 stands as “a statement of style, performance, and freedom,” highlighting its global appeal and expected resonance with Indian riders. Sales and Marketing Director Mr. Yogesh Mathur added that the model has been long-awaited by enthusiasts and is “designed to let you express your individuality.”
Built around a bobber-style, stripped-down aesthetic, the Rebel 500 features a low 690mm seat height, a retro-styled frame, all-LED lighting, and blacked-out components for a bold road presence. The motorcycle is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine, producing 34kW at 8,500 RPM and 43.3 Nm of torque at 6,000 RPM, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The Rebel also includes Showa dual rear shock absorbers, telescopic front forks, dual-channel ABS with disc brakes at both ends, and Dunlop tyres. The bike features an inverted LCD display to complement its modern-retro blend.
Bookings are available in dealerships and online through the official Honda BigWing India website. The launch reinforces Honda’s commitment to offering global riding experiences tailored to the Indian market.
