Ferrari unveils Amalfi Spider with 640 hp twin-turbo V8 and open-top design
Ferrari has unveiled the new Ferrari Amalfi Spider, a 2+ convertible sports car featuring a front-mid-mounted twin-turbo V8 engine designed to combine performance, elegance and everyday usability. The new model, revealed in Maranello on March 13, is positioned as a performance-driven open-air grand tourer within Ferrari’s lineup. The car delivers 640 horsepower from a 3,855-cc twin-turbo V8, allowing it to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 km/h. Ferrari said the Amalfi Spider aims to balance high performance with versatility, offering the experience of open-top driving without compromising everyday practicality. The car features a fabric soft top that opens in 13.5 seconds and can operate at speeds of up to 60 km/h. When folded, the roof measures only 220 mm in thickness, allowing the vehicle to maintain practical luggage space — 255 litres with the roof closed and 172 litres with it open.
Designed by the Ferrari Design Studio under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, the Amalfi Spider retains the elegant silhouette of the Ferrari Amalfi coupe while incorporating a minimalist and sculpted design language. Ferrari has also introduced a new colour option, Rosso Tramonto, inspired by the sunset hues of the Amalfi Coast. Inside the cabin, the car adopts a dual-cockpit layout with separate spaces for driver and passenger. The cockpit includes a 15.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, and an 8.8-inch passenger display that shows performance data such as engine revs and G-forces. Connectivity features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless smartphone charging, along with the MyFerrari Connect system for remote vehicle monitoring.
The Amalfi Spider is powered by the latest evolution of Ferrari’s F154 twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering 760 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 5,750 rpm. Power is transmitted through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission derived from the system used in Ferrari’s hybrid supercar, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale. To enhance handling and safety, the car incorporates brake-by-wire technology, the ABS Evo braking system, and Ferrari’s Side Slip Control (SSC) 6.1, which coordinates multiple dynamic systems to optimise stability and performance. Active aerodynamics, including a three-position rear wing, automatically adjust downforce depending on speed and driving conditions. Ferrari has also focused on open-top comfort. A wind deflector integrated into the rear seats, operated via a button, reduces turbulence in the cabin during high-speed driving.
The Amalfi Spider rides on 20-inch wheels with tyre options developed in collaboration with partners including Pirelli, Goodyear and Bridgestone. Ferrari said the vehicle will also come with its seven-year Genuine Maintenance programme, which covers scheduled servicing every 20,000 km or once a year through Ferrari’s global dealership network. With its blend of performance, design and everyday usability, the Amalfi Spider reinforces Ferrari’s focus on delivering high-performance grand touring experiences in an open-top configuration.
