BMW launches new-gen 2 series Gran Coupé in India at ₹46.90 lakh

MW India has launched the second-generation BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, introducing a striking design overhaul, new tech features, and enhanced performance. Locally manufactured at BMW Group’s Chennai plant, the new 2 Series will be available exclusively with a petrol powertrain and is now open for bookings across dealerships nationwide, with deliveries commencing immediately.

Priced at ₹46.90 lakh for the 218i M Sport and ₹48.90 lakh for the 218i M Sport Pro (ex-showroom), the updated model features the brand’s iconic ‘shark-nose’ front, illuminated kidney grille, adaptive LED headlights, and a coupe-style silhouette. The sporty styling is complemented by the standard M Sport package, 18-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels, and frameless doors.

Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, said the new Gran Coupé "amplifies the driver’s personality" and is tailored for younger, style-conscious urban buyers.

Inside, the car boasts a redesigned cockpit with the BMW Curved Display, head-up display with Augmented View, ambient lighting, and sustainable Veganza leather-free upholstery. The model also offers sport seats, Harman Kardon sound system, and a panoramic sunroof for a premium driving experience.

Under the hood, the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivers 156 hp and 230 Nm torque, enabling 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h. The 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission includes a Sport Boost mode for enhanced performance.

On the tech front, the car is equipped with BMW’s Operating System 9, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, BMW Digital Key Plus, Driving Assistant, and Parking Assistant Plus with a 360° camera and Reversing Assistant.

The model is available in four paint options—Brooklyn Grey, Portimao Blue, Black Sapphire, and Alpine White—with interior shades in Mocha or Oyster. Buyers can also benefit from flexible ownership packages via BMW Financial Services, starting at ₹35,000 per month with assured buyback.

With cutting-edge safety features like Dynamic Stability Control, Cornering Brake Control, and six airbags, the new 2 Series continues BMW's legacy of delivering dynamic driving with uncompromised comfort and innovation.
