2026 Maruti Baleno full price list out, starts at Rs 5.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.99 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has revealed the complete price list for the 2026 Baleno facelift, with the premium hatchback now starting at Rs 5.99 lakh and going up to Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The company had initially announced a starting price of Rs 6.10 lakh when the updated model was launched on September 5, but its official listing now shows a lower entry price.

The new Baleno is offered in Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha and Alpha (O) trims, with petrol manual, petrol AMT and CNG powertrain options available depending on the variant. The entry-level Sigma petrol manual costs Rs 5.99 lakh, while the range-topping Alpha (O) AMT is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh.

Variant-wise prices revealed

The Delta petrol manual is priced at Rs 7 lakh, while its AMT version costs Rs 7.50 lakh. The Delta CNG has been priced at Rs 7.92 lakh. Moving up the range, the Zeta petrol manual costs Rs 8 lakh, the Zeta AMT Rs 8.50 lakh and the Zeta CNG Rs 8.92 lakh.

The Alpha petrol manual carries a price tag of Rs 9.10 lakh, with the AMT version costing Rs 9.60 lakh. At the top of the range, the Alpha (O) costs Rs 9.50 lakh with the manual gearbox and Rs 9.99 lakh with the AMT.

Across the range, buyers opting for the five-speed AMT pay Rs 50,000 more than for the corresponding petrol manual variant. The factory-fitted CNG versions command a premium of Rs 92,000 over their equivalent petrol manual models.

New three-cylinder engine

One of the most significant mechanical changes to the facelifted Baleno is under the bonnet. Maruti Suzuki has replaced the previous K12N 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with the newer Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit already used in the Swift and Dzire.

The petrol engine produces 83hp and 112Nm, representing a reduction of 7hp and 1Nm compared with the outgoing four-cylinder motor. Buyers can choose between a five-speed manual gearbox and a five-speed AMT.

Despite the lower output, Maruti claims a substantial improvement in fuel efficiency. The petrol manual has a claimed mileage of 23.80kpl, an increase of 1.45kpl, while the AMT delivers a claimed 24.77kpl, improving by 1.83kpl.

The Z12E engine is also available with a factory-fitted CNG system. In CNG mode, it develops 70hp and 102Nm and is paired exclusively with a five-speed manual transmission. Claimed efficiency stands at 33.61km per kg, around 3km per kg better than before.

Takes on Altroz, i20 and Glanza

The revised pricing puts the Baleno directly against some of the most established premium hatchbacks in India. Its principal rivals include the Tata Altroz, priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10.75 lakh, and the standard Hyundai i20, which ranges from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10.39 lakh.

The Toyota Glanza, which shares its basic architecture with the Baleno, is priced from Rs 6.73 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh.

With a Rs 5.99-lakh starting price, Maruti has positioned the facelifted Baleno aggressively at the lower end of the premium hatchback segment, while the introduction of the more efficient three-cylinder engine marks the biggest mechanical change to the updated model.
