In a tit-for-tat move, India bans Pakistan airlines from using airspace from April 30 to May 23

Sources said that a NOTAM has been issued that bars Pakistan airlines from using the Indian airspace. The development comes a week after Pakistan barred Indian carriers from using its airspace

One week after the Pahalgam terror attack, India has announced a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that restricts its airspace to all aircraft registered, operated, or leased by Pakistan, including both commercial airlines and military flights. The restriction will be in place from April 30 to May 23, 2025. India issued the NOTAM on Wednesday (April 30), effectively closing its airspace to Pakistani-registered, operated, or leased aircraft, airlines, and military flights. This move is in response to Pakistan's earlier decision to close its airspace to India, with India now reciprocating the action, according to media reports. Now, Pakistani airlines will need to reroute flights over alternate countries, such as China or Sri Lanka, in order to reach Southeast Asia. There are also reports suggesting that the Indian government may also be considering a ban on Pakistani ships at Indian ports.
