Anil Ambani talked funds, defence, ‘dessert’ with Epstein until months before his arrest

“How can you help arrange financing at the corporate level? Working on securing up to 750 million USD at a personal level against listed shares…” read a message sent by Anil Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance ADAG Group, to American businessman Jeffrey Epstein on April 20, 2019.

This communication, along with multiple other messages and emails exchanged between the two, appears in the latest batch of documents connected to Epstein, the convicted child sex offender. These files were made public by the US Department of Justice (DoJ) on January 30 this year.

Last week, speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi referred to the US Department of Justice documents on Epstein and claimed they mention Union Minister Hardeep Puri and industrialist Anil Ambani. He also raised questions about the Minister’s inclusion in the set of emails. Reacting to the remarks, Puri dismissed Gandhi’s claims as “baseless allegations.”
