'Toxic' advance booking: Yash's film sells 2.6 lakh tickets, nears Rs 20 crore

Yash's 'Toxic' is generating strong interest ahead of its theatrical release, with advance bookings showing a notable response from audiences. The action thriller has sold around 2.6 lakh tickets so far and earned an estimated Rs 19.44 crore in advance booking revenue, including blocked seats.

According to Sacnilk, 'Toxic' has recorded around Rs 11.74 crore gross in India from Day 1 advance bookings. The Kannada version is leading the sales, while the Hindi release has also contributed significantly.

Karnataka leads advance bookings

Karnataka is currently the biggest market for 'Toxic' ahead of its release. The Yash-starrer has recorded an estimated Rs 7.72 crore gross in the state, with around 1.6 lakh tickets already sold.

Maharashtra is the second-highest contributor, with its gross collection, including blocked seats, estimated at Rs 1.81 crore. Delhi follows with around Rs 1.19 crore.

The Kannada version has contributed approximately Rs 7.72 crore to the Day 1 advance bookings, while the Hindi version has added around Rs 3.86 crore. The Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions account for the remaining collections.

With the film still several days away from hitting theatres, the early ticket sales have given 'Toxic' a strong start.

'Toxic' gets A certificate

The film has also attracted attention because of its mature content. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared 'Toxic' with an ‘A’ certificate, meaning only adult audiences can watch it in India.

In the UK, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has awarded the film an 18 rating. The certification reportedly flags content involving threats, drugs, sexual violence and self-harm. Violence, sex and injury detail have received the highest content ratings.

Geetu Mohandas directorial releases August 26

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, 'Toxic' stars Yash in the lead role alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.

The action thriller is scheduled to release in theatres on August 26. Its advance booking figures will be closely watched as the film approaches its opening day.
