Tom Holland makes history at 30, becomes third highest-grossing actor ever

Tom Holland has reached another major milestone in his career, moving into the top three among Hollywood's highest-grossing actors at the age of 30.

The actor's latest Marvel film, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day', has continued its strong run at the global box office, helping push Holland's cumulative earnings to an elite level. According to the latest figures, he now ranks third behind Zoë Saldaña and Scarlett Johansson. The achievement also reportedly makes him the youngest actor to enter the top three.

'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' powers record

Holland's box-office record has been driven largely by his portrayal of Peter Parker in the Marvel franchise. His latest outing as Spider-Man has added significantly to his career total.

The film remained at No. 1 at the North American box office for a fifth consecutive weekend. It earned an estimated $22.2 million from theatres in the US and Canada during the latest weekend.

With that performance, the film's worldwide collection climbed to around $2.33 billion.

Film enters global top three

The latest figure puts 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' ahead of 'Avatar: The Way Of Water', which ended its theatrical run with approximately $2.32 billion worldwide.

The current top five highest-grossing films globally are led by 'Avatar' with $2.92 billion, followed by 'Avengers: Endgame' at $2.79 billion. 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' ranks third with $2.33 billion, ahead of 'Avatar: The Way Of Water' and 'Titanic', which earned around $2.25 billion.

Strong run in North America

The superhero film has also continued to perform strongly in its home market. Its North American box-office total has reached roughly $891 million.

For Holland, the performance adds another major achievement to a career closely associated with one of cinema's most recognisable superhero characters. At 30, his latest ranking places him alongside some of the industry's biggest box-office names.
