Tiger Shroff's team warns of legal action over fake AI videos after firing attack

Actor's representatives clarify that he has issued no statement or video about the October 18 shooting incident in Mumbai

Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff's team on Tuesday issued its first official statement following the firing incident involving the actor in Mumbai, warning of legal action against individuals and social media platforms circulating fabricated stories, AI-generated videos and misleading claims attributed to him.

The statement clarified that Shroff had neither spoken publicly about the October 18 attack nor authorised any videos or communications concerning the incident and subsequent developments.

The clarification came amid the circulation of unverified content across social media platforms, including videos and narratives allegedly created using artificial intelligence.

In a statement shared on social media, Team Tiger categorically denied reports suggesting that Shroff had commented on the shooting or released videos addressing the incident.

"We would like to categorically clarify that Tiger Shroff has made no statements, released no videos, and authorised no communication regarding the recent incident or any related developments," the statement said.

The team expressed concern over the misuse of artificial intelligence and the spread of fabricated content falsely associated with the actor.

It said several social media pages and digital platforms were circulating misleading stories and scripted narratives that had been wrongly attributed to Shroff.

The team described such material as false and unauthorised, alleging that it was intended to mislead the public.

Shroff's representatives warned that individuals or digital platforms responsible for creating, promoting or circulating fabricated material could face legal consequences.

The statement said the team was examining instances of misinformation and reserved the right to pursue legal remedies against those responsible.

It also urged media organisations, digital publishers and social media users to exercise caution while reporting or sharing information about the actor.

The team called on publishers to verify the authenticity of claims before making them public and avoid amplifying misinformation to generate engagement or financial benefits.

It emphasised that Shroff and his representatives had no association with the fabricated material circulating online.

The statement concluded by requesting the public to rely exclusively on verified communications from the actor and his official team.

The clarification follows a shooting incident on October 18, when unidentified attackers allegedly opened fire at Shroff's vehicle as he was leaving a football club in Mumbai.

The incident occurred around 7 pm, with videos circulating online showing assailants firing at the actor's car from close range.

Shroff escaped without serious injuries, while his driver and another person were reportedly injured.

The shooting prompted an extensive investigation by Mumbai Police, which examined CCTV recordings and other technical evidence to identify those involved.

Following the attack, Mumbai Police formed around 20 special teams to investigate the incident and trace the assailants.

Investigators identified a motorcycle allegedly used in the shooting and tracked its movements through CCTV footage.

The vehicle was subsequently traced near Andheri West Railway Station, while further investigation suggested that the suspects had travelled towards Surat before boarding the Pune-Jaipur Express.

Police alerted their counterparts in Rajasthan after identifying the train and compartment in which the suspects were believed to be travelling.

Two men and a minor were subsequently apprehended by Kota Police in connection with the shooting.

Mumbai Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Raj Tilak Roshan said the investigation involved coordination with police teams in Delhi, Gujarat and Rajasthan.

The process of bringing the suspects to Mumbai for further investigation was initiated following their apprehension.

The firing incident has raised concerns over the safety of film personalities in Mumbai, prompting a review of security arrangements.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Shroff following the attack, while Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reportedly spoke to the actor and assured action against those responsible.

Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the possible involvement of other individuals.

Meanwhile, Shroff's team has maintained that any statements, videos or claims purportedly originating from the actor should be treated with caution unless verified through his official communication channels.
