SRK's birthday plans get bigger as 'King' teaser gears up for November 2 launch

Shah Rukh Khan's birthday could come with a major surprise for his fans this year, with the teaser of his upcoming film ‘King’ reportedly set to release on November 2. Director Siddharth Anand is preparing to unveil the first glimpse of the much-anticipated action film on the superstar's birthday, according to reports.

If the plans materialise, the teaser will offer fans their first major look at the project ahead of its theatrical release on December 24.

‘King’ teaser to launch on SRK's birthday

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the makers are planning to release the teaser on November 2 as a special birthday gift for Shah Rukh Khan's fans.

"It's a birthday gift from team King to all Shah Rukh Khan fans, and Siddharth Anand is going to deliver a new SRK experience," the portal quoted a source as saying.

The report added that the teaser cut is mind-blowing, with Shah Rukh Khan appearing in a never-seen-before avatar and delivering larger-than-life dialogues with style and suave.

The teaser is expected to mark the beginning of the film's global marketing campaign as the makers prepare to position ‘King’ as a major action spectacle.

Bigger action and a star-studded cast

The source also suggested that the film would raise the bar in terms of scale and presentation, drawing comparisons with Shah Rukh Khan's recent blockbusters ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’.

“If audiences loved the scale of Pathaan and Jawan, Sid has taken things a notch higher with King. The action, thrill, and, most importantly, music will take the audiences on a ride this Christmas.”

The film is also expected to feature Kareena Kapoor in a special appearance. According to the report, she will share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in a song titled Daddy Cool, which the makers plan to shoot in South Africa in October.

The ensemble cast includes Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor and Raghav Juyal in key roles.

When will ‘King’ release?

Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix, ‘King’ is scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 24. The reported teaser launch on Shah Rukh Khan's birthday would give the promotional campaign an early start ahead of the Christmas release.
