Shah Rukh Khan unveils new King poster, says ‘Qaatil nahi, Aashiq hoon’

Shah Rukh Khan has unveiled a new poster for his upcoming film King, offering another glimpse of his intense action-oriented avatar ahead of its theatrical release on December 24, 2026. The superstar shared the poster on social media, accompanying it with a line that recalls his iconic 1999 film Baadshah.

In the striking image, Shah Rukh is seen walking through fire with a rose in his mouth and a gun in his hand. Sporting an intense expression, the actor appears to combine the film's action-driven aesthetic with a romantic undertone.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, he wrote, “Aaj phir yaad aaya... Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon… #KING In cinemas 24.12.26.” The line, which translates to “Not a killer, I am a lover”, refers to the title track of Baadshah.

King builds anticipation ahead of its December release

The new poster follows a series of promotional updates for the film. The title of King was unveiled on November 2, 2025, coinciding with Shah Rukh's 60th birthday. The first glimpse featured the actor in a silver-haired avatar, sporting an intense action-hero look and delivering the dialogue, “Darr nahi, dehshat hoon.”

The makers subsequently announced the film's release date in January this year. More recently, a promotional video released on October 24 featured Shah Rukh in a rugged, bloodied appearance, building anticipation as the film's theatrical release approaches.

The actor has also addressed questions about the much-awaited trailer during a recent AskSRK session. Responding to a fan who asked why the wait was taking so long, Shah Rukh clarified that he was not deliberately keeping audiences waiting. He said the team was taking its time to put together something that would do justice to the film.

“Ab picture hi dekho na! Tarsa nahi raha join acchhi wali bana raha hoon....ke Dil ko tasalli mile....Sab ayega…24th Dec se pehle,” he wrote, asking fans to watch the film directly and assuring them that more promotional material would arrive before December 24.

Shah Rukh Khan reunites with Siddharth Anand

King stars Shah Rukh in the lead role and is directed by Siddharth Anand, marking their second collaboration after the 2023 blockbuster Pathaan.

The film features an ensemble cast comprising Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Raghav Juyal and Saurabh Shukla, among others.

The project is also significant for Shah Rukh as it marks his first film with his daughter, Suhana. She made her acting debut in 2023 with The Archies.

With its release scheduled for December 24, 2026, King is among the most anticipated upcoming Hindi films, with its latest poster adding to the excitement surrounding Shah Rukh's return to the big screen.
