Sara Ali Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana turn showstoppers for Manish Malhotra at LFW
Actors Sara Ali Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana turned showstoppers for celebrated fashion designer Manish Malhotra as he unveiled his latest 'Luxury Pret' collection at Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).
The showcase, held at the Taj Palace Hotel on Saturday, presented a contemporary interpretation of occasion dressing, bringing together the richness of traditional Indian craftsmanship and modern design sensibilities.
Malhotra's Luxury Pret 2026 collection featured sculpted silhouettes, metallic accents, intricate embellishments and fluid draping, marking a departure from the designer's earlier presentations that prominently featured elaborate embroidery.
Models walked the runway to musician Donn Bhat's track 'Ishq', showcasing ensembles that combined traditional Indian elements with contemporary cuts and detailing.

Sara Ali Khan appeared in a striking black ensemble comprising a floral-embellished tube top and a flowing draped skirt, complemented by a black scarf.
She accessorised her outfit with emerald jewellery from Manish Malhotra's Fine Jewellery label, adding a touch of colour to the monochromatic look.
Ayushmann Khurrana, meanwhile, walked the ramp in a structured black jacket featuring intricate silver detailing, paired with a black shirt and tailored trousers.
The actors' ensembles reflected the collection's emphasis on combining statement-making occasion wear with contemporary silhouettes.

The collection featured a wide range of outfits, including cropped jackets, saris, long skirts, off-shoulder tops, suits and modern interpretations of traditional bandhgalas.
Metallic embellishments and structured detailing replaced much of the elaborate embroidery associated with Malhotra's previous showcases.
Layering and draping remained central to the designs, allowing traditional styles to take on a more fluid and contemporary appearance.
The colour palette ranged from different shades of green to ivory, blue and pink, offering a combination of understated and vibrant occasion wear.
The designer said the collection was conceived as an exploration of a new approach to glamour that balanced traditional craftsmanship with changing fashion preferences.
"Luxury Pret 2026 is about exploring a new expression of glamour, one that feels effortless, contemporary and deeply personal. I wanted to create a collection that carries the richness of our craftsmanship but also reflects the way people dress and celebrate today," Malhotra said in a statement.

The showcase formed part of the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week, organised in partnership with FDCI, which brings together established designers, emerging labels and leading personalities from the entertainment industry.
The fashion event will conclude on October 18 with designer Amit Aggarwal presenting his latest collection from his pret label, 'AM:IT'.
Malhotra's presentation added a contemporary dimension to the event, highlighting the growing emphasis on occasion wear that combines traditional Indian craftsmanship with modern styling and versatile silhouettes.
